The Amity Brawl Staff
What are the staff's jobs?
There are currently three types of Amity Brawl Staff:Administrators
The Administrators' jobs are to update and manage the forums and other resources. They do alot of behind the scenes work like adding forums, adding new features, and maintaining existing features.Moderators
The Moderators' jobs are to keep the boards clean and safe by removing spam and other bad content. They can edit out bad content and ban abusive members.VIP Members
The VIP Members aren't really staff but they are special members who help the staff make decisions and provide valuable feed back.More info and a list of current staff members may be found here.
How do I become a staff member?
Staff members are added only when more are required. Staff are choosen by the existing staff after much discussion and thought. Asking to become one will not help your chances, they will only hurt them. If you have noticed a member that you think should be staff go here to nominate them.Administrators
Administrators are only added in extreme circumstances and only the most active and experienced members can become one.Moderators
Only those that have demonstrated good decision making and a level head are asked to become mods.VIP Members
Very active and helpful members are the most likely to become VIP Members.Warnings & The Rules
How does the Warn System work?
The warn system is a way for the mods/admins to notify members of, and keep track of, rule breaking. If you break the rules, you will get a notification via PM and in your warning history. If the rule violation was severe enough, your warn level will be increased. When you first sign up, your warn level starts at 0%. Breaking rules will cause it to go up by 10%, 20%, or even more, depending on the rule violation. Different punishments are enacted when you get to certian warn levels. Here's a list of them:At a warn level of 0% you are at the very best you can be. This means that you have not broken any major rules and you're in no danger of being banned.
At a warn level of 30% you will most likely be banned for 24 hours. You haven't been too bad, but you'd better be carefull.
At a warn level of 50% you will be banned for 3 days and most likely have to have your postings reviewed by a moderator for a short time.
At a warn level of 70% you will be banned for a week and other consequences will most likely be delt out.
At a warn level of 90% you will be banned for at least 3 weeks or more. At this point you are in extreame danger of being permanently banned from the site.
At a warn level of 100% you will be permanently banned from the site. The end, game over.
After long periods of not breaking the rules and helping the staff your warn level can be decreased. Do not ask for this however, as it will be done when the staff feel that you have earned it.
You can view your current warn level and all past warnings by going to your profile and clicking "View Warnings" located right below your mini profile. If the link isn't there, then that means you have never recieved a warning before. This is a good thing.
What happens/How do I know when I'm banned?
When you are banned you should be given a reason for your banning in the ban message that comes up. If this does not occur, or if you have more questions about the ban, please email us at support@amitybrawl.com.Why are the rules here so strict?
The rules here are so strict only to keep the boards clean, and prevent mayhem and disorder. If you have a problem with a specific rule, please bring it up with a staff member or post your opinion on the site suggestions board. Can I see a list of all the currently banned words?
If you would like to see a list of all the currently banned words please PM an administrator.Accounts & Profiles
How do I change my username?
To change your username click "Preferences" up at the top of the board and then click the "Change UserName" link in the "Board Controls" section. Fill in your username and click the submit button. It may take up to a day for an administrator to change your username. Please remember however that usernames will only be changed if the change is minor and does not make the new name too disimilar from the old one. "Drone505" to "Drone55" would be acepted, while "Drone505" to "Happy101" would not.How do I change my avatar?
Go to "Preferences" and click "Change Avatar" in the "Profile Options" section. There you may choose a preset avatar from the gallery or upload your own.How does the rank system work?
Your rank is a measure of your activity on the site. Your rank will increase as you post more on the forums. You start out at Level 0, and can keep going up all the way to Level 10. Your rank appears as a small image right below your avatar next to your posts. The Message Boards & PMs
